Woah, what a busy week! Currently, Clavey is in the process of pruning our mature Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Sangiovese vines back to their eloquent selves again. I’d like to think of it as giving them a nice haircut for the ball. This process supports generous vine growth in spring and summer time along with allowing us to maintain the canopy better. These current fluctuations in weather the Sierra Foothills have been experiencing have also been keeping us busy in the vineyard! As we prepare for bud break, we are also preparing for the worst. God forbid a late snow comes and burns our young buds or a heavy rain comes and knocks our flowers right off the vine! Fingers crossed ladies and gentlemen and ‘drink’ happy thoughts because like always, we’re hoping for the best!
Now you’ve got a better feel for what our blogs are about, and you’ve got a chance to learn a little about what’s going on at the vineyard! What’s next? Tune in for our next blog next Monday! Wine not?
